Frequently Asked Questions

Can Lodging at Yellowstone host my group or tour?
Yes, across all four properties. Summer groups earn discounted rates portfolio-wide, tour buses find purpose-built logistics at the West Gate Hotel (bus parking, baggage handling, key-pack check-in), the Kelly Inn feeds full coaches with its expanded breakfast capacity, and The Cody Hotel hosts groups on the east side. Contact Group Sales at (406) 646-4544 or yellowstonegroups@kellyinns.com; large West Yellowstone group inquiries are handled through the Kelly Inn team.
Where should a wedding party stay?
The portfolio offers two distinct wedding paths: reserve the historic Union Pacific Dining Lodge next door to the ClubHouse Inn with guests steps away, or host up to 75 in The Cody Hotel's Shoshone River Room with luxury suites on site. Group Sales can walk you through both.
What does a group tour of Yellowstone look like from your hotels?
Base the coach in West Yellowstone for geyser-country days (all three hotels are minutes from the gate), or in Cody for the east side plus built-in evening entertainment at the rodeo and museums. Our teams help with activity planning either way, and many tours do both gateways with us on one routing.
What's Yellowstone like in winter?
America's wonderland at its emptiest and most beautiful. With only the North Entrance open to vehicles and most roads under snow, the park transforms: bison steam in the geyser basins, wolves stand out against the white, and the crowds are simply gone. Access from our gateways is by snowcoach, guided snowmobile, skis, or snowshoes.
How do I visit Old Faithful in winter?
Ride a warm, comfortable snowcoach from West Yellowstone. Operators pick up in town, roll over the snow-packed park roads, and deliver you to Old Faithful erupting into freezing air, one of the park's greatest spectacles. The year-round Kelly Inn is the natural overnight base, blocks from where the coaches load.
Where should I stay for a winter Yellowstone trip?
For individual travelers and families, the Kelly Inn West Yellowstone runs all winter with its big pool, hot tub, winter soup-and-cookies tradition, and breakfast waiting after cold days outside; The Cody Hotel serves the east side year-round with its fireplace suites. Note that snowcoach and snowmobile season typically runs mid-December through mid-March.
What winter activities run from West Yellowstone?
Three pillars: snowcoach tours into the park, guided snowmobiling inside the park plus hundreds of miles of independent riding on national forest trails, and world-class cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, from the groomed Rendezvous trails in town to unplowed park roads open to skis.
